Invisalign chewies, also known as aligner chewies or “Invisalign bite sticks”, are small cylindrical cushions made of a soft, pliable material. These chewies are designed to help seat your aligners properly, ensuring a snug and comfortable fit, by biting down onto the chewie. 

Using an Invisalign chewie can help ‘snap’ your aligners into place to secure the aligner for maximum effectiveness with each set of aligners.

These chewing exercises will remove any air bubbles between your teeth and aligners. Invisalign chewies can also help stimulate tooth movement and offer relief from discomfort. 

How to Use Invisalign Chewies

It’s super easy to use Invisalign chewies! Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  1. Grab your aligner chewie: They usually come in small packs or can be obtained from your orthodontist.
  2. Insert your aligners: Pop in your Invisalign aligners as usual and ensure that they’re in place.
  3. Bite and chew: Take the chewie and bite down on it gently but firmly. The cushiony material will compress between your teeth, creating gentle pressure that helps the aligners fit snugly against your teeth.
  4. Move it around: For best results, bite and chew on the chewie in various spots, including the front and back teeth, left and right sides, and upper and lower jaws. This ensures that your aligners are completely seated!
  5. Repeat the process: Aim to use your Invisalign chewies for about 5-10 minutes, several times a day. Make it a part of your daily Invisalign routine!

We recommend you use chewies in the morning and at night for about 5 to 10 minutes. If your Invisalign tray is not fitting on one particular tooth, give that tooth extra chew-time each day. 

Can using orthodontic chewies speed up the treatment process?

Using orthodontic chewies can help keep your treatment progress on track so you can experience a beautiful new smile in the shortest amount of time! Immediately after using chewies, rinse them with water. If needed, you can use a mild soap or toothpaste to double down and give them a quick clean. Replace your chewies if they become worn out or lose their flexibility.

We’re always looking for ways to make our community smile and create a positive impact! Here are a few ways Jupiter Orthodontics has given back recently, and how we commit every day to engaging with our community beyond orthodontics:

Our local schools initiatives

The Jupiter team is proud to have built relationships with our local schools and sponsor various programs throughout the school year! We truly believe children are our future and giving them the tools they need to stay healthy and achieve greatness is our greatest passion. That’s why Jupiter Orthodontics created the G.R.I.N award for students who improve their performance and/or behavior during the year. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed and sometimes that takes a little encouragement and someone who believes in them!

Dr. King, Dr. Welch, and our friendly team members are also happy to educate students on the importance of oral health and the benefits of orthodontic treatment. Jupiter Orthodontics also partners with many local schools in our efforts to give back through our Kindness Bench donations, hosting teacher appreciation events, and donating emergency supplies to school nurses. As a former child of two school teachers, Dr. King knows how important educators are in nurturing children’s healthy and well-rounded characters. 

We support local sports teams too!

Dr. King and Dr. Welch are proud to offer travel expense support for our local traveling sports team members so they can enjoy a full season of fun and sportsmanship!

Another program we’ve created with great success involves sports safety. With nearly 50% of children experiencing dentofacial injuries during sports activities, wearing the proper protective gear can greatly reduce the risk of oral injuries. This is why we’re proud to offer FREE custom mouthguards for ANY elementary or middle school student participating in a qualifying sports program. We love doing our part to keep your child’s smile safe and happy!

We’re committed to making regular charitable donations

Jupiter Orthodontics is wholeheartedly committed to giving back to our Jupiter community and beyond! We regularly make charitable donations to many different non-profits and voluntary organizations to do our part in educating our children, teaching kindness, and promoting food security. 

A few of the local and national organizations we support every year are the American Cancer Society, the Boys and Girls Club of Palm Beach County, the Knights of Columbus (Food for Families), and the Jupiter Medical Center Foundation. 

From educating young girls in our community on the orthodontic process to collecting pantry food items for families in hardship, Jupiter Orthodontics strives to help families in any way we can. Dr. King is also proud to offer FREE orthodontic treatment to children in need for every 10th patient that starts. While our practice strives to provide affordable orthodontic treatment to every smile in Jupiter, we know that families near or below poverty level can struggle with any additional expense and want to do our part to help bridge the gap.

We do our part in protecting the environment!

As a business, we recognize the impact our tools and standard of safe care can have on the environment. That’s why we’re always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint!

A few ways our practice protects our environment (and beautiful Palm Beach County beaches) is through the use of digital x-rays and digital impressions! By using digital x-ray machines to get clear digital images of your teeth and jawbones, we forgo the use chemicals necessary to “cure” traditional x-ray images and their by-product which negatively impact our environment by leaving lead waste in our topsoil (a substance that takes over 2,000 years to break down).  

Also, with the help of our iTero, our team has eliminated the use of traditional dental impressions for our patients. This is more than just a comfortable method for our patients too! By using the iTero, we eliminate the need for impression trays, putty ingredients, and storage, reducing our material waste significantly!
